In Japan mainland we can see a pair of animal statue, called "Koma-inu". Usually, they are at a gate of shrine as the guardians, look like "Shisa" in Okinawa well. The one opening his mouth is male "阿(A)" and another one closing her mouth is female "吽(Un)". A and Un know what to do without exchanging words, so they are symbol of perfect combination.
